Vacation Days and Summer Sprouts
Hale Vacation Days
Children ages 4–12 years old might find themselves building shelters, orienteering, or hiking Hale’s many miles of trails. Weather permitting, they may enjoy sledding, snowshoeing, and other wintry activities.
At the end of each day, they’ll warm up by the fire as they reflect on their adventures.
Meals are not included, so please remember to bring lunch, a snack, and a water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day. Weather-appropriate gear (including hats, gloves, snow pants, boots, extra clothing, etc.) and a mask are required.
With plenty of wilderness to explore, activities will be outside. Spacious heated buildings are available if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
- Ages 4–5 will meet at Powissett Lodge
- Ages 6–8 will meet at the Simches Family Center and Trading Post
- Ages 9–12 will meet at Fern Valley’s Yurt Village
Please note that we are unable to offer transportation and extended day options at this time.
Summer Sprouts at Hale
A new drop-off program for preschoolers! During June, four- and five-year-olds get ready for summer by building sandcastles, playing games, splashing in shallow water, and making friends. Themed days invite everyone to be their favorite superhero, athlete, or cartoon character. A 5:1 children-to-staff ratio ensures personal attention as they socialize and acclimate to Powissett Pond’s placid waterfront.
